18 October 2023

Holland & Barrett, the UK’s leading health & wellness retailer, partners with campaign group Menopause Mandate on World Menopause Day (18th October) to bring attention to and achieve better support and education for women around menopause.

Throughout the day, Holland & Barrett supported several events alongside Menopause Mandate patrons, experts and advocates including the first ever ‘Walk In The Park’ in Kensington Gardens. Hyde Park. The inaugural walk saw campaigners, including well-known faces, come together with a shared passion to draw attention to the need of improved menopause supportcare for every woman.

Holland & Barrett’s flagship store in Marble Arch also played host to a series of panel events, including ‘Diversity and Menopause’, hosted by British Olympian and menopause campaigner, Michelle Griffith Robinson, and ‘Menopause and the Workplace’, hosted by TV presenter, Cherry Healey.

Clare Stafford, Director of Communications at Holland & Barrett, said: “We have long supported women’s wellness, and we are proud to continue working with leading campaigners such as Menopause Mandate to provide important tools and resources, such as our menopause nurse lines that help more women to be heard and supported. We’re proud to also offer guidance and symptom support in multiple languages, starting with Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and Punjabi, helping more communities receive the help they need.

“Walking and talking are two important things we can all do for our wellness, so we’re delighted to support the first ever Menopause Mandate Walk in The Park on World Menopause Day. By bringing together passionate advocates who believe that every menopause matters, we want to continue to open-up conversations and help women from all communities be able to access the advice and support they need.”

Holland & Barrett’s deep heritage in supporting women in menopause has seen the retailer launch numerous new initiatives in the last 18 months alone with the aim of reaching and supporting every woman. The launch of the first retailer-led free menopause helpline in partnership with Menopause Mandate where women can book a free online consultation with a specially trained nurse, goes from strength to strength. Since its launch in November last year there have been over 1200 booked appointments, and 18,000 minutes of free advice.

It also became the first UK retailer to offer a multi-language online consultation service to help support women from ethnic minorities. Plus, all 4,000 H&B colleagues have had extended training to help better advise on menopause symptoms and solutions.
