Holland & Barrett debuts Sustainability & Impact Report

22 April 2026

  • Holland & Barrett has launched its first Sustainability and Impact Report, reinforcing its commitment to help people live longer, healthier lives and creating a healthier planet.

  • The report is underpinned by its ‘Back Every Body’ framework and builds on the Back Your Body commitment to expand access to trusted wellness, education and support to at least 10 million people annually from 2030.

Holland & Barrett, the UK’s leading health and wellness retailer, has today launched its first Sustainability and Impact Report 2026: ‘Backing Every Body’. The report reinforces its commitment to help people live longer, healthier lives while creating a healthier planet – and advancing its broader mission to help people better understand and back their bodies every day, reaching at least 10 million people from 2030 across Holland & Barrett's core markets.

The report is underpinned by its ‘Back Every Body’ framework, focusing on three core pillars:

  • Healthier planet: Reducing carbon emissions in line with climate science while designing products and packaging to minimise environmental impact - ensuring people can make better choices for both their bodies and the world around them.

  • Healthier people: Expanding access to trusted health advice and support, with a focus on removing barriers and reaching 10 million people annually from 2030 - a key part of Holland & Barrett’s ‘Back Your Body’ commitment to close the gap between intention and action when it comes to health.

  • Healthier products: Choosing ingredients for their proven benefits, sourcing them responsibly, and being more transparent about how everything is made. This will give customers more confidence in the products they choose.

Anthony Houghton, Group CEO at Holland & Barrett said: “For more than 150 years, we’ve helped people live healthier lives. Today, we know that health and wellness you can trust depends not just on the choices people make, but on the integrity of the products we sell, the systems behind them, and the planet that sustains us. Our role is to raise standards, build trust and make it easier for people to make healthier choices every day.”

Jessica Long, Sustainability & Impact Director at Holland & Barrett said: “We are taking steps to raise the bar on what responsible retail looks like, strengthening standards, improving transparency and making clearer, evidence-based decisions across our products and supply chain. The launch of our first Sustainability and Impact Report marks an important milestone for Holland & Barrett.

“This is ongoing work, but greater transparency means we can make clearer, and sometimes tougher, decisions about what we put on our shelves, how we source and the standards we set across our range.”
